The piece of equipment, which has since been installed at La Panciata in Northfield, won Best Overall Engineering Project of the Year Award at this year’s engineering convocation. The team is comprised of Norwich seniors Will Thornton, Enock Nyame, Owen McLaughlin and Ishmael Sesay.

“This monumental achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the collective support and belief in our potential,” said team members in a statement following their victory. “We are proud to represent Norwich University on the world stage.”

Benjamin Stark, one of the most storied swimmers in Norwich University swimming & diving history, became the first student-athlete in school history to be named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athlete of the Year for Men's Sports.

During the 2023-24 academic year, four senior Norwich University engineering students combined their skills to build a prototype joystick for a client with cerebral palsy. Mechanical Engineering majors Tanner Buckelew, Helena Robinson, and Sebastian Mowbray teamed up with Interdisciplinary Engineering major Andrew Wade for this successful project.
