Norwich's student-run literary journal names award winners and prepares to unveil its newest issue.

Badge reads Chameleon Literary Journal Winner, Chameleon, $150 Prize.

On April 23, Norwich University's Chameleon Literary Journal will unveil its 2026 issue in the Kreitzberg Library Multipurpose Room from 5-6 p.m. Join our celebration, especially as we award seven creative writing and arts prizes.

The Chameleon is a student-run literary and arts magazine and features creative writing and visual art made by Norwich students, showcasing the creativity of the Norwich campus.

This year, we received many wonderful submissions. These included poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction submissions. We also received many great works of art and photography. For the first time ever, we published videos and podcasts. Out of these many great submissions, we chose seven winners and gave out $1,650 in prize money.

Please congratulate the following winners:

  • Brett Carlson won the Robert Halleck Poetry Prize, which is supported by Robert Halleck '64.
  • Val Hernandez won the Allan Nason Prize, which is supported by Robert Halleck '64.
  • Aryon Hernandez-Reyes won the brand-new Community Prize, which is supported by the Center for Civic Engagement.
  • Kerry McAuley won the Chameleon Prize, which is supported by the Department of Global Humanities.
