Funding for Student Researchers
The Undergraduate Research Program offers several types of funding to support student researchers at all stages of their work, from students with no research experience to students who have completed research and want to present it at conferences around the country and the world. The four main funding sources we offer are outlined below.
Apprentice Grants
Students are paid an hourly wage to help faculty with ongoing research while learning research methods and techniques.
Summer Research Fellowships
Students develop independent research projects with the help of a faculty mentor and complete their research during a six- or ten-week paid fellowship over the summer.
Research Expenses Grants
These grants provide funding for research related expenses.
Student Travel Grants
Provide funding for student travel to conduct research or present research at conferences.
