Alcohol Awareness

This is a training that serves as a private and confidential means for students to actively engage in the topic of alcohol use here on the Norwich campus. In this training participants will be asked to reflect on their own personal pattern of drinking and to explore the benefits and risk factors associated with that pattern of use. Additionally, participants will learn about the signs and symptoms of risky, abusive, or dependent patterns of alcohol use while being informed on how to, when to, and where to seek out support for themselves or others in need of intervention.

Alcohol Education Program

The Alcohol and Drug Education Program is comprised of assessment, education, and treatment services for NU students who are referred for violations of NU substance use policies. This program consists of 3 sessions (ALL mandatory for completion) approximately 1 hour each.

  • All students referred for policy violations receive a base level of service consisting of:
  • A comprehensive substance use assessment using the BASICS/CASICS guidelines(mandatory).
  • Homework will be provided at the discretion of the Counselor.
  • A follow-up appointment to review the results of your assessment.
