Katie John

Katie John, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with 28 years of nursing experience and more than 16 years in advanced practice. Her diverse clinical background includes critical care, primary care, endocrinology, diabetes management, cardiovascular care, and nursing education.

Professor John joined Norwich University in 2025 as a lecturer and teaches undergraduate courses in health assessment, pathophysiology, adult health nursing, and community health while mentoring students in classroom, simulation, and clinical settings. Before joining Norwich University, she practiced as a family nurse practitioner specializing in endocrinology and diabetes care, managing patients with complex chronic conditions across the lifespan. Professor John is board-certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) and has extensive experience using diabetes technologies, including continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump therapy.

As a lecturer, she is passionate about preparing the next generation of nurses through active learning, simulation, and evidence-based teaching strategies that promote clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and compassionate, patient-centered care. Her professional interests include diabetes management, nursing education, and the integration of technology into healthcare and nursing education.
