Hansen Mak

Hansen Mak is a national security and emerging technology professional currently serving as a senior director for Resource and Evaluation at the White House Office of the National Cyber Director. Previously, he served as the deputy assistant national cyber director, focusing on national strategy and policy implementation and the necessary resources to secure cyberspace and ensure the United States is in the strongest possible position to realize all the benefits and potential of our digital future.

Before the White House, he spent nearly two decades in the Department of Defense (DoD). He previously served as the deputy assistant director for Regional Planning and Program Design at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, where he was responsible for leading deliberate multiyear regional/country-level strategic planning, resource integration, interagency collaboration, and managing congressional engagements that enable the agency to build partner capacity through security cooperation and assistance. He had also served in various other leadership roles within the DoD that include strategy and budget formulation, policy development, resource management, programming, and congressional and legislative affairs.

Before entering federal government service, he was a strategy and operations consultant with Deloitte and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He concurrently serves as a director on various organization boards focusing on governance, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
