Norwich University cadets march in a parade commemorating the United States Bicentennial, 1976.
Class of 1976 50th Reunion Dinner
Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
Time: Cocktails–6:00 p.m., Dinner–7:00 p.m.
Location: Sugarbush Resort, Warren, VT
While planning Homecoming activities, the most important factor for the committee was creating opportunities for conversation and “catching up.” Some of us return to Norwich University every five years or even more often. Others will join us for the first time in many years.
Whether you are coming for the full weekend, or one day, we are excited to see you back on The Hill. The Upper Parade Ground is still the UP where tours get worked off. Many of the buildings are the same though their function has changed. Central Vermont is still a beautiful place to be. As in the past, the weather is changeable, so please remember to bring warm layers.
Our official 50th reunion activities begin on Friday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. with a short memorial service in honor of our deceased classmates. Then we will be called to muster on the Upper Parade Ground at 4:15 p.m. as special guests at the NU Corps of Cadets Review and Retreat. We will find our reserved seating next to the reviewing stand.
We recommend that you stay at or near Sugarbush Resort because our Class Dinner will be there on Saturday evening and we are planning an informal gathering on Friday evening in the Valley—location TBD.
Saturday starts bright and early (Line up at 9 a.m. sharp by Plumley Armory) on Saturday with the Alumni Parade where we will receive medallions, making us official members of the Old Guard.
We are planning a Class of ’76 Lunch under a tent in the Kreitzberg Arena parking lot, followed activities of your choice whether it be cheering on the football or other teams, visiting the new Constitution Place with the library, the bookstore in Wise Campus Center or the many other places, old and new, on our beautiful campus. There are numerous activities planned throughout the weekend covering a wide array of interests. We also urge you to take advantage of the numerous places to gather, relax, reflect, and converse.
We look forward to having the men, women and Spirit of ’76 back on campus for our 50th anniversary.
