About

Jeff Harrington, NU Class of ’87, is a veteran law enforcement officer with over 35 years of experience in both law enforcement and corrections.

Over the course of his career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility to include police officer/deputy sheriff, traffic homicide investigator, detective, supervisor, and various positions as a commander. 

Harrington was formerly a Chief of Police in Florida and currently serves as the Chief Deputy (second in command with a rank of Colonel) at the Pasco Sheriff's Office, serving a community of over 650,000 residents. He was a gubernatorial appointment to the Pasco Hernando State College District Board of Trustees and was appointed by the Florida Commissioner of Education to the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute as a policy board member. 

Harrington has taught as an adjunct faculty member in Florida at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Federal Executive Development Seminar and the National Executive Institute. 

He has Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Norwich University and a Ph.D. in Leadership from Capella University.
