The 4th Annual Paine Mountain Trail Races hosted by the Norwich Cross Country teams will be on Sunday, September 27 with two challenging race distance options – the Paine Summit 7+ mile race or the Anchor Challenge 6k race. The Anchor race will feature a 4-person Team competition option. The event is a fundraiser for the Norwich University Cross Country program for continued development of the Norwich home XC course introduced in 2023. A portion of the funds raised will be given to the Town of Northfield designated for trail development.  

Event Schedule and Details:
8:30 a.m. – Race day registration and race bib # pick-up 
10:00 a.m. – Paine Mountain Trail Races begin  
10:15 a.m. – Youth Races from 200m up to the Mile (FREE!)   
11:00 – 1:00 p.m. – Post-race celebration includes refreshments, good food, raffle prizes and awards

    •  Online Registration: June 1 through Friday, September 25 at 11:59 p.m. through UltraSignUp.com:

         ○  Early Bird Fee - June 1 to September 13: $35 (plus processing fee) 
         ○  Later Online Fee - September 14 to 25: $40 (plus processing fee) 
    •  In-person Registration: race day at Shaw Outdoor Center, September 27, from 8:30 - 9:45 a.m.
         ○  Race Day Fee -  $50
    ‣  Discounted registration fee offered for Norwich University and Northfield HS students 
    ‣  Youth Races are free!  

Race Amenities: 
Post-race celebration with refreshments and music   |   Local Vermont and New England products 
Special PMTR gift for all pre-registered participants   |   Raffle prize drawing for all registered participants

Awards:
    ‣  Queen and King of the “Summit” and “Anchor” prizes awarded to the first female and male to reach the Paine Mountain Summit and the Anchor of each race
    ‣  Top 3 Overall Finisher awards for Men and Women in both races 
    ‣  Overall Age Division winners in 10-year divisions in both races
    ‣  Anchor Challenge 4-person Team Competition for Norwich ROTC, Military Specialty Unites, Norwich Clubs/Sport Teams, and Community Running Clubs
