Psychology Major
The psychology program provides you with a broad-based foundation in the discipline. Psychology is a scientific field that describes principles of human and animal behavior. These principles are formulated within the context of biological, socio-cultural, and environmental factors. Psychology shares its subject matter and methods with the biological and social sciences.
As a psychology major at Norwich, you can explore the discipline from the experimental, personality/social, developmental, and/or clinical perspectives. Upper-level practica, internships, or field placements help you gain practical work experience in a special interest area are encouraged.
Education Major
As an education major, you'll get essential course content and preparation in knowledge and performance standards set by the State of Vermont Agency of Education in their Core 2 Teaching Standards. You'll receive coursework that is in line with the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium standards from which Vermont’s Core Teaching Standards were adopted.
It also fulfills the endorsement standards outlined by the Vermont Agency of Education for each area of Education-related licensure offered at Norwich. You'll join the important field of education as a well-prepared, dynamic educator who has a positive impact on your students.
