The 11 U.S. Air Force ROTC students listed here have shown potential as officers, appreciation for military history, scholastic achievement devotion to community and compassion for peers. Their passion, patriotism and academic success have made them examples of Norwich excellence.


 

Brigadier General Elizabeth P. Hoisington Award goes to the top senior female cadets seeking a commission. BG Hoisington was the second woman and first Women’s Army Corps officer to be promoted to the rank of general officer in 1970.

Cadet Alexis P. Hennings-Perez (2020)


The Zybura Award goes to graduating seniors who possess a high sense of humor honor, an appreciation for military history, and a genuine compassion for other people. This award is given in memory of Henry Zybura who embodied all of these traits and shared his humor and friendship with others in the Norwich community.

Cadet Brandon M. Summers (2020)


Theodore L. Sodergren Commitment Award was instituted in memory of LT COL Theodore Sodergren (USAF) and presented to a graduating Air Force senior for his exemplary service and commitment to his fellow Air Force ROTC cadets. Awarded to a graduating Air Force senior who demonstrated selfless support for his Air Force classmates, the team player who exemplifies the wingman concept.

Bernard A. Schriever Award (AFCEA) is awarded to an upcoming junior or senior cadet/midshipman who is majoring in a scientific/technical field and demonstrates outstanding officer potential.

Cadet Melissa E. Lezama (2020)


The Pritzker Military Foundation Awards are awarded to Cadets who distinguished themselves through scholastic achievement, leadership and excellence of character.

Cadet Wendell P. Logan (2020)


The Pritzker Military Foundation Awards are awarded to Cadets who distinguished themselves through scholastic achievement, leadership and excellence of character.

Cadet Alexander W. DiGiacomo (2020)


American Legion Military Excellence Awards are awarded to freshman, sophomore junior and senior cadets in each branch who demonstrated general military excellence.

Cadet Anthony Trigilio (2020)


American Legion Scholastic Excellence Awards are awarded to freshman, sophomore junior and senior cadets in each branch who demonstrated scholastic excellence.

Cadet Christopher J. Land (2020)


The Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company Service Award is awarded to graduating seniors judged to have contributed outstanding service to Norwich University and the surrounding community.

Cadet Andrew J. Harris (2020)


Military Order of the World Wars Award is awarded for overall improvement in military and scholastic studies, presented in memory of COL Leroy Hersum, NU Class of 1921.

Cadet Zachary C. VanBuskirk (2020)


Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Award is presented in recognition of graduating seniors in each branch who demonstrated patriotism and service to community.
