Outstanding leadership, professionalism and academic achievement have made this group exemplary of Norwich excellence.


Brigadier General Elizabeth P. Hoisington Award​ is awarded to the top senior female Cadets seeking a commission. BG Hoisington was the second woman and first Women’s Army Corps officer to be promoted to the rank of general officer in 1970.

Cadet Sarah Ingraham (2020)


Reserve Officer's Association Medal (ROA​) is awarded by the Reserve Officer's Association, Department of Vermont to a cadet in the Junior or Senior class who demonstrates outstanding qualities of leadership, moral character, and a high aptitude for military service.

Cadet Caleb Hayden (2020)


The George C. Marshall Award​ is awarded to the outstanding Army senior Cadet in each of the 350 college and university Army ROTC detachments.

Cadet Dillon Zites (2020)


The Zybura Award​ is awarded to graduating seniors who possess a high sense of humor honor and an appreciation for military history, and a genuine compassion for other people. This award is given in memory of Henry Zybura who embodied all of these traits and shared his humor and friendship with others in the Norwich community.

Cadet Caleb Valcin (2020)


The Jack Burney Combat Arms Award​ for the Outstanding Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery Commissionees is awarded to graduating senior cadets who branched Infantry, Armor, and Field Artillery for displaying dedication, professionalism, and the warrior ethos.

Cadet Kristopher Klemm


The Patton Pistol Award​ is awarded to a graduating senior cadet to be commissioned in Armor.

Cadet Benjamin Martell (2020)


The Colonel Conrad D. Whitney Award​ for Military Excellence was established in 2006 by Marilyn Whiney in honor of her husband. Presented annually to a commissioning Army cadet who best exemplifies the Norwich tradition of soldier-leader, and ranks in the top 10% of their class.

The Pritzker Military Foundation Awards​ are awarded to cadets who distinguished themselves through scholastic achievement, leadership, and excellence of character.

Cadet Nicole Foilb (2020)


American Legion Military Excellence Awards​ are awarded to freshman, sophomore, junior and senior cadets in each branch who demonstrated general military excellence.

Cadet Marlon Cammarano (2020)


American Legion Scholastic Excellence Awards​ is awarded to freshman, sophomore, junior and senior cadets in each branch who demonstrated scholastic excellence.

Cadet William Pawlak (2020)


The Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company Service Award​ is awarded to graduating seniors judged to have contributed outstanding service to Norwich University and the surrounding community.

Cadet Alexandria Spezia (2020)


Military Order of the World Wars Award​ is awarded for overall improvement in military and scholastic studies and presented in memory of COL Leroy Hersum, NU Class of 1921.

Cadet Benjamin Martell (2020)


USAA Spirit Award​ is awarded to the cadet in each ROTC who best displays the traits and characteristics that embody the spirit of service to others.

Cadet Alexander Hutz (2020)


National Sojourners Award​ is awarded to a cadet who demonstrates and encourages ideals of Americanism and leadership within the Corps of Cadets.

Cadet Emily Jonston (2020)


Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S​. is awarded to cadets who excelled in military science, aerospace studies or naval science.

Cadet Colby Dalton (2020)


Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War​is awarded in recognition of graduating seniors in each branch who demonstrated patriotism and service to community.

Cadet Meredith Halik(2020)


The Sons of the American Revolution Award ​is awarded to a Cadet for a high degree of merit with respect to leadership qualities, soldierly bearing and excellence.
