The international studies program empowers majors to develop an appreciation for the diversity of political, economic, and cultural systems in the world through an interdisciplinary curriculum. Through coursework and study abroad, international studies majors develop self-discipline, critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both their first and second languages.
Requirements include at least one semester in a study-abroad program where the student develops language proficiency and cultural understanding. Students are prepared for their overseas experience through the course work they take on campus, including advanced studies in Spanish, French, German or Chinese. CityLAB:Berlin is an exciting opportunity which allows students to spend a semester in the heart of Europe and experience the history, politics, and culture of Germany first-hand. While abroad, our students develop the cultural sensitivity crucial for careers in government, the military, business, international agencies and nonprofit service organizations.
