In October an interdisciplinary group of 12 students and 3 faculty traveled to Boston for a hands-on experience trip to learn about state-level policy and decision making, and participate in simulation exercises. During the four-day trip students met with alumni and representatives from the FBI, DHS, DEA, FEMA and Coast Guard. “Having the ability to talk one-on-one with these gentlemen was a great way to obtain knowledge, mentorship and guidance for the future. I honestly could not believe how great our alumni are at supporting the students and the future of this college.” - Alexander Hutz, student “By bringing in our own perspectives through our different majors and studies, we were able to gain a well-rounded understanding of how each agency functioned with respect to the topics we discussed.” – Faith Privett, student “Boston Policy week is a perfect example of one of the reasons why I came to Norwich. I wanted a community that actively encouraged learning outside the classroom in practical scenarios. The Boston Policy week was just that…. experience is the best teacher.” - Thomas Walsh, student . . . #norwichuniversity #experientiallearning #boston #fema #fbi #dhs #coastguard #travel #workhard #policymaking
