Members of the Norwich Family:
Today, 1 June 2020, is my first day as your President. In the coming weeks you will be hearing from me often on many subjects, including my honor to become a member of the Norwich community and to serve as your President.
Given the current state of unrest across our country, it is paramount that you immediately receive my personal communication in response to the death of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis. Indeed, Mr. Floyd’s death is a heartbreaking tragedy.
First, please allow me to reinforce very clearly that the Norwich community will be safe, inclusive, and respectful of all students, faculty, staff, and guests. Given our guiding values of mutual respect, dignity, and inclusive leadership, all of us have a significant role in helping to make our nation better. We are citizens of the greatest country in the world, and must stand united to combat intolerable behavior.
