spring 2021 covid testing

Return to Modified Room Quarantine

Due to a concerning increase in positive COVID-19 cases on our campus, effective immediately, the campus quarantine is suspended. Norwich residential students are now immediately assigned to return to modified room quarantine until further notice. Our decision to return to modified room quarantine is in the interest of the health and safety of all students and the Norwich community. We must take immediate action and make additional effort to reduce risk of COVID-19 transmission to combat our increasing positivity rate.

It is vital that students continue to fully comply with the Student Behavioral Contract, the Daily Health Screening, adhere to the face mask/coverings policy, maintain physical distancing, and follow hand hygiene guidelines. In the barracks or residence halls, facial coverings are required at all times except when students are in their own room alone, or with their own roommate only and the room door is closed.

Meal access will continue on the dining hall schedule assigned by residential buildings. We will coordinate package deliveries from the Mailroom to residential buildings while students are assigned to modified room quarantine.

We experienced delays at our COVID-19 testing site Monday, January 25. Additional COVID-19 testing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 26 from 0900 - 1600 for students who were not able to complete their testing as scheduled, including day-7 arrival tests. Thank you for your continued compliance toward public health and safety on campus. I will continue to update the Norwich community in the days ahead. For the latest information to include the number of positive cases, please visit the Norwich.edu/psa website.
