PLEASE NOTE: In the abundance of caution and for the health and safety of the Norwich and central Vermont community, the Norwich campus is closed to the public for the foreseeable future to include all buildings, fields and tracks. Thank you for your understanding.

Following please find information from Sodexo on dining operations for the spring semester which will be in effect at the conclusion of campus quarantine on or about January 28th:

At all dining locations we ask that you:

  • Please continue to adhere to all physical distancing guidelines.
  • Wear a mask in the food service area and refrain from eating while standing in line. Masks may be removed after you are seated at your table.
  • Plan your visit ahead by viewing Sodexo’s menus on the BITE app to help with physical distancing and crowd control.
  • Remember that mobile ordering is available at The Mill and Dunkin’.

The Dining Hall

  • Capacity guidelines for the dining hall will be implemented and enforced based on Vermont Department of Health guidance. Therefore, it is critical that all students select and adhere to their mealtimes.
  • Seating guidelines will be identified for the safe seating of all students. We ask that all diners abide by the indicated guidelines. Please do not move chairs or tables as the dining hall has been arranged for your safety.

Station Information in the dining hall

  • Hearth: The Hearth station will be open serving pizza, pasta, and hearth specials this semester.
  • Deli, Euro & Grill: These stations will be open with the same menu at each station. Our menu at these stations will include the following: Two types of salad, fresh fruit, vegetarian entrée, entrée, vegetable, starch, featured special, soup and dessert.
  • Salad: The salad station will offer fruit, yogurt, bread, peanut butter, jelly and more.
  • Other options will be available throughout the servery, including ice cream, cereal and more.

Meal Assignments

Students will be required to select their mealtimes in Banner as reported in yesterday’s update. Please look for your email invitation on Monday, January 25 with a direct link to self-register for your meal periods. We will not use meal identifying stickers on CADETcards this semester. Periodically, dining employees may ask students to show their scheduled mealtimes in Banner on their phone or mobile device. This will be done if we start to see density reaching maximum capacities per COVID-19 guidelines. Rook, Cadre, and Cavalry will be assigned mealtimes for Monday-Friday dinner and weekend meals. These students will still need to self-select the times for their Monday-Friday Breakfast and Monday-Friday Lunch meal periods.

Snack Time

Snack time is back this semester. Students will NOT need an assigned mealtime to dine during this period. Snack time will be offered from 2:00 p.m.-4:45 p.m. at the Hearth station.

Meal support for quarantined buildings would replace snack time from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. should one or more entire buildings be quarantined.

Military Java Group:

The Dining Hall, The Mill and Catering will begin offering coffee from Military Java Group. 50% Of all profits goes to the non-profit Semper Fi Fund which provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post- 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of ALL branches of the United States Armed Forces and families.

  • We ask that students in the seating area keep their mask on unless they are seated at a table eating or drinking.

Pick 5

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering Pick 5 in the Abare Dining Hall (Rook Deck). The Pick 5 plan features five meals per week in addition to the 19 meals in the dining hall. Pick 5 meals can be used in addition to the dining hall meals and/or as an alternative. Pick 5 is offered at no additional cost to students.

At Pick 5, students select one entrée, three sides, one beverage and have the option of soup which is an extra sixth item.

The Daily Grind and Partridge’s Pub will be closed this semester due to COVID-19 restrictions.
