Expect Challenge. Achieve Distinction.

Keeping our Norwich students and community informed and safe.

As you may already know, Dr. Brian Bradke has resigned from his position at Norwich University and will no longer be able to lead the trip to Italy as planned. Dr. Nadia Al-Aubaidy has graciously agreed to serve as the substitute Trip Leader. The course title, content, and credits will remain the same. Our goal is also to keep the costs the same as well. The most recent estimate for the entire program including airfare and meals was $5,275.

On February 26, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a Level 2 Travel Health Alert for Italy, recommending travelers practice enhanced precautions. The full advisory can be found here:  https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/alert/coronavirus-italy

University policy requires that we cancel programs when the advisory is a Warning Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel. Because Italy has not yet fallen into that category yet, the International Center’s current decision is to proceed as though the program will be operational.

That said, we are monitoring the situation and will work closely with our Trip Leader to develop a back-up plan that will enable program participants to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. In other words, we will plan for an alternative location for the program.

Should you decide that you are no longer interested in participating in the program because of the change in instructor or concerns about your health and safety, the International Center will refund your program deposit. We also ask that you do not make any financial commitments related to the program at this time—flights, train tickets, etc.—until further notice.
