Richard W. Schneider honored by armed forces-veteran-led digital publishing agency
Norwich University President Emeritus Richard W. Schneider was recently named to the Mighty 25, a list of influential military community supporters compiled by We Are The Mighty, an armed forces veteran-led digital publisher and media agency.
Los Angeles-based We Are The Mighty, which delivers video production, marketing, advertising and consulting, released the Mighty 25 on Nov. 10.
In a summary, We Are The Mighty highlighted Schneider’s 30 years of U.S. Coast Guard active-duty and reserve service; his raising of four daughters after his first wife died at age 40; his earning of a doctorate; and his 1992 arrival as Norwich University’s president.
Schneider ceded Norwich’s presidency in May 2020 after 28 years.
“(Schneider) remains active and currently lends his time to supporting the building of the first Coast Guard Museum and inspiring future citizen-soldiers,” the summary said. We Are The Mighty’s Jessica Manfre also wrote a longer bio for Schneider.
We Are The Mighty’s nod continued a string of postretirement accolades for Schneider. In October, he received the 2021 Citizen Soldier Award from the Pritzker Military Museum & Library in Chicago. In March, the Vermont National Guard awarded Schneider the Vermont Distinguished Service Medal.
