Today, I am announcing that due to the persistent presence and continued spread of COVID-19, no large public events will be taking place on campus this fall. We know this is disappointing news for everyone. It is, however, consistent with the university’s priority to make Norwich safe for students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff. Restricting events and visitors to campus will help minimize the likelihood or severity of an outbreak of the virus.

SUBJECT: Norwich Student’s Belongings in University Housing

Dear Norwich Students,

First and foremost, I write with best wishes at the end of the semester, hoping all is well as you prepare for the summer months ahead. I am pleased to inform you that Vermont’s colleges and universities have been given permission by the State of Vermont to invite students who are within one-day’s drive of their college or university campus to return to the campus in order to collect their belongings from their rooms. As part of the State of Vermont’s phased reopening plan, all individuals are required to continue observing social distancing measures, minimize group gatherings, and wear face masks when in public.

Diplomas will be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service after June 1 to the mailing address listed on the graduation application.

No. For the safety of our employees and students, all diplomas will be mailed.
