Jeffrey Olson, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and joined the Norwich faculty in 2006. He received a PhD in pure mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
His research into algebraic logic and universal algebra has been published in seven different academic journals. More recent research has focused on discrete dynamical systems. His most recent publication, “Variants of Bulgarian Solitaire,” appeared in the online journal Integers in 2016.
Olson has traveled widely, spending two years in Uzbekistan as a volunteer in the United States Peace Corps and studying in Durban, South Africa, while completing his doctorate.
