Robert McKay earned a BA in philosophy from Swarthmore College and an MA and PhD in philosophy from the University of Chicago.
After two years as a Harper teaching fellow at Chicago, he joined the Norwich faculty in 1981. While his dissertation was in ancient Greek philosophy, he has wide-ranging interests in the history of philosophy, especially ethics, and for the last twenty years has regularly taught a four-semester history of philosophy sequence, as well as logic, introductory ethics, and a number of different courses in applied ethics. An inveterate bibliophile, he is currently engaged in the study of New Testament Greek, but also enjoys gardening, hiking, and long bicycle rides through the hills near his home.
