Paul Milne has a PhD in analytical chemistry from the University of Michigan and an A.B. in chemistry from Cornell University. He came to Norwich University in 2019 and teaches general chemistry.

Dr. Milne began his professional career as an analytical chemist at Pepsi Cola’s research and development center where he developed analytical methods for ingredients and raw materials, in addition to introducing new analytical technology into Pepsi’s quality control laboratories. He then moved on to SGS where he was the in-house expert on world-wide regulations governing chemicals in household goods. He traveled the United States giving talks to various trade groups and associations about impending government regulations and how those regulations would impact the testing and certification of consumer products. From there, Dr. Milne came to Vermont to establish an analytical laboratory at Keurig’s research and development facility in Waterbury Center where he developed methods for testing the quality of coffee and of agglomerated cocoa powders, among other products.
