Daniel P. Alcorn is the program manager for the Bachelor of Science in Management Studies and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration programs for NU’s online College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS), for which he has worked since 2010.
He joined the Norwich faculty as an adjunct in 2012, and received a promotion to assistant professor in 2020.
Alcorn earned his associate’s and bachelor’s degrees from Kent State University, followed by a Master of Public Administration and Master of Business Administration from Norwich University. He also holds certificates in Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Continuity of Governmental Operations (COOP), both earned at Norwich. He holds a postgraduate certificate in business from Northcentral University. And, he is studying for his Doctor of Business Administration in international business at Northcentral University.
At Norwich, Alcorn teaches courses in management of organizations and business applications and problem-solving, along with numerous online classes for CGCS. He also teaches at the Community College of Vermont. Previously, he taught for Rutland City Public School, Killington Mountain School, the College of St. Joseph, and the International College of the Cayman Islands.
Alcorn serves as an assistant varsity football coach for Rutland High School, the head softball for Rutland Middle School, the head softball coach for Vermont Venom USA Softball, and an assistant softball coach for Norwich University. He previously coached basketball for West Rutland School, Rutland High School, Wallingford Elementary School, Vermont Foxes AAU, and CSJ Celtics AAU, and coached softball at West Rutland School and the College of St. Joseph. He served on the Rutland City School Board, the Wallingford Zoning Board and the Rutland Regional Transportation Council, and served as chairman of the board for the Community High School of Vermont. He is a member of the Pi Alpha Alpha, Pi Lambda Theta, Epsilon Pi Phi, Delta Mu Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, Upsilon Pi Phi, and Sigma Iota Rho honor societies and sits on the advisory board on graduate education for the International City/County Management Association.
