Voluntary attendance except for students who are on campus beginning Thursday, April 28. Instructions follow arrival to rehearsal, format of commencement program, followed by general announcements.

- Arrive in regalia or uniform as well as a mask. Corps, black mask.
- No decorations are permitted on regalia including the mortarboard and masks, only approved honor cords or items presented by colleges or official NU groups.
- No guests in student location.
- Regalia must be worn to include hoods or uniform. Academic regalia is worn over business casual attire.
Enter through the Doyle Entrance from street. Shapiro will use sidewalk toward football field. Kreitzberg will use sidewalk heading in direction of student housing.
Upon entry, create a uniformed line keeping 6-ft apart from person in front of you. A name card will be provided with a number for line up.
Both lineup locations have stairs so anyone with physical limitations please contact Mr. Patrick Gardner (Kreitzberg) or Ms. Cynthia Suter (Shapiro) to discuss alternative lineup options.
Procession begins at 0850/1150 sharp. Programs will be on your chair in the venue.

It is imperative that you stay in number order.

Shapiro will process from Andrews Gymnasium to Shapiro.
Krietzberg Arena will process rink level from Doyle Concessions Hallway to rink level.
Pomp and Circumstance Pathway
Shapiro – enter North entryway to floor. Follow back wall to second Fire Egress. Turn right (West) to first row from stage. Fill in each row thereafter.
Kreitzberg – enter South end, rink level main overhead door. Walk left (West) follow wall to first row. Fill in each row thereafter.

Tassel change from right to left
The Provost will ask the BA and BS students to rise. President will welcome the Senior Resident Coordinator and Regimental Commander to the stage.
Senior Resident Coordinator will tell Civilians to move the tassel from right eye to left eye. Mortarboards or Corps covers are not to be thrown.
Turning of Ring
Regimental Commander will ask the Corps of Cadets to turn your ring so that the word HONOR faces you and your heart.
Procession to Stage
Each row will be called to rise by the Marshal, first row will make way to stage left (your right). Remaining rows sit until instructed to rise. The line from stage will extend towards the side wall, your right. Please keep 6 ft between each person.
Processing Across Stage
Each student is called from first, primary major alphabetically. Your name card will be collected near the stage for one last review of number assignment. Stand on the top stair to wait for your name to be called.
Understand, there could be one to a few names called before yours so you must listen carefully. This is to ensure those watching virtually have the same experience.
At the middle of the stage, an empty diploma tube will be handed by the College Dean. There will be no hooding or other items presented, no handshakes.
As you exit the stairs, stage right a picture will be taken from the floor with marks, please pause and look for the photographer. You may remove the mask for portrait, but must be placed back immediately following the photo.
Immediately return to your row and seat. Please be seated.
The platform party will process first. A Marshal will be available for assistance.
Shapiro – Do not follow platform party. Front row from stage will first Exit left (South, stage right) from row to middle fire egress and recess through overhead door. Each row to back wall will follow.
Kreitzberg – Follow platform. First row from stage will walk right (East, stage left) and follow East wall heading South to main overhead door. Each row to back of rink floor will follow.
Please walk a fair distance to ensure all students can exit safely distanced.
After the first ceremonies, we plan for a 30 minute regroup for the second ceremony. Please do not congregate once outside. Have a designated plan with your family. There are no group activities on the College grounds.
Commissioning will follow the Commandant’s instructions
Demonstration of hood placement
The “V” faces your chest, velvet on the outside. Colors on back rolled out.
A representative will be assessing inappropriate conduct, or inability to participate as an active celebrant and if so, will be asked to leave the procession.
Bookstore will be open for late regalia pick-up Saturday, May 1, 0800-1000

Diploma mailing and transcripts
Diplomas will be mailed the week of June 1 by USPS in a mailing tube but will not be signed receipt but will have a tracking number. Those who do not participate will also be mailed the commemorative maroon tube. August graduate’s diploma will be mailed the second to third week in September.
Transcripts may be ordered and marked hold for degree. If remaining courses are not being taken on-campus, please do not order until after June 1 and do NOT mark hold for degree. The same process will be for our August graduates, and diplomas will be mailed the second to third week in September.
