Professor of Political Science
Helmut Franz, PhD, teaches political science, a natural choice after growing up in East Germany and moving to the West just before the Berlin Wall was built.He has served as a lecturer at Berlin University and the Berlin campus of Teikyo University, Japan.
Franz has taught and worked in Shanghai and guided study tours to China and Burma. Since 1988, he has led classroom lectures and field studies for a number of university study abroad programs, including the School for International Training, Lexia, Northeastern University, and Sarah Lawrence College, among others.
