Ask Courtney Sullivan '18 (left) what makes her NU experience special and she doesn't miss a beat. "The people. You come here and you go through a lot of different things that you don't go through in a normal school," says the Corps of Cadets cybersecurity major from Orchard Park, N.Y. "But one thing that you get out of this is the greatest group of friends."
Meet Alanna Girardin, Danielle Richards, and Jordan Day. Sullivan describes her rugby teammates as the "sweetest," the "funniest," and most down-to-earth people she's ever met. "We're all best friends. We hang out," Sullivan says. "We call it a sisterhood. It really is. I would do anything for these girls."
Off the pitch, Sullivan pins her early academic success on her fellow rooks. Sullivan arrived at Norwich with four-year Army ROTC scholarship and an interest in computers and cybersecurity but no experience. The Dean's List student found academic support, knowhow and inspiration in her Corps platoon of fellow majors. "I wouldn't have passed freshman year without my rook brothers."
