Architecture + Art Program – Prospective Students

Want to share your work? We’d love to see it!

The five-year Master of Architecture Program is a four-plus-one model. Students complete their bachelor’s degree in architecture before applying for admission to the one-year master’s program. Students who received their undergraduate degree from another institution are not eligible to apply for admission to the master’s program until they have first obtained their bachelor’s degree through Norwich.

Students applying for the undergraduate architecture program must complete the same admissions process as other new students to the university.

Submission of creative works

Students interested in the Architecture + Art program can submit an optional portfolio, demonstrating individual expression through artwork and other media.

What should my portfolio be? The portfolio theme and guidelines are mostly open-ended. Please submit eight images of your best work (please do not send your original work). This can be drawings, mixed media, paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, or architecture drawings. In addition, please include a description of each image including whether it was a class project or self-directed work.

Drawing folder option

You may also choose to submit a drawing folder as your creative work. These exercises, detailed on pages 3 to 5 of the portfolio guidelines, demonstrate your grasp of composition, observation and spatial relationships. Three drawings should be bound in a folder with your name, mailing address, email address and telephone number as an introductory page.
