At Norwich University, all students who apply are evaluated in terms of eligibility for merit-based scholarships. This includes his or her high school grade-point average (GPA) and highest score from the ACT or SAT standardized tests. The two factors are weighed together to determine eligibility.
For students pursuing a military career, ROTC scholarships help cover costs, but commit you to serve in the armed forces. These scholarships are applied to through the branch or branches of interest, not Norwich University, and are highly competitive on a national scale.
ROTC provides money to cover some tuition and uniform expenses as well as a monthly stipend. A student bringing an ROTC scholarship to Norwich will also be awarded the I.D. White Scholarship, which covers room and board.
If your son or daughter applies for an ROTC scholarship, you should still complete the FAFSA.
For more information, or to start the ROTC scholarship process, go to the website of the branch or branches that interest you. You will need to start the process by spring of the student’s junior year, as it takes time.
