Myth #1: Traditional students have to wear a uniform and wake up at 5:30 a.m. to do physical training.
The Truth: Although traditional students are expected to respect those who have chosen to participate in The Corps of Cadets as well as military customs and courtesies, they are not expected to participate in any military training, including waking up early to work out or wear a military uniform.
Myth #2: I can come to Norwich as a traditional student but still participate in ROTC.
The Truth: You must be a part of The Corps of Cadets to participate in any ROTC classes. The only exception to this rule is for students majoring in Nursing. For more information, contact the admissions office at 1-800-468-6679.

The Truth: Traditional students may become a Cadet at the beginning of their sophomore year.
Myth #4: Traditional students at Norwich do not have as many opportunities available to them as the Cadets.
The Truth: Traditional students have just as many academic, athletic and extracurricular opportunities as our Cadets. In addition, our students have the extra benefit of attending college at one of the nation's foremost leadership laboratories. We are committed to developing the leadership qualities of our traditional students, just as we develop those of our Cadets.
Myth #5: There is animosity between Cadets and traditional students.
The Truth: For 20 years, Cadets and traditional students have shared a campus in Northfield, Vermont. The two lifestyles are completely integrated - they attend the same classes, play on the same athletic teams and participate in the same clubs and activities. As such, all of our students learn to respect their peers for the lifestyle choice they have made.
