MANAGEMENT

BECOME A BUSINESS LEADER.

Whether you want to lead a large organization or a small team, a management degree from Norwich will prepare you for many career paths in a tough, competitive world.

Our flexible program prepares majors for leadership and management positions in small- and medium-sized businesses, governmental organizations, and the military. Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur brimming with business ideas, leaning toward the corporate world, or planning on taking up managerial responsibilities in a family business, our program can be tailored to your needs. Leadership and management skills necessary for a military or international career are emphasized, and a minor degree is also available.

Management majors choose from one of five concentrations: computer information systems, financial economics, leadership, marketing, and sports management. Many management majors frequently double major in accounting, a path that requires as few as two additional courses.

  • Program Details

The management program focuses on the management functions: planning, organization, leadership and control. Our students will integrate knowledge from other disciplines within the school (accounting, economics and computer information systems), to enter into organizations with both a functional and an enterprise perspective. The program provides a breadth of required courses and the opportunity to pursue elective courses in such fields as organizational behavior, information systems, marketing, economics, human resources, and finance enabling each student to align his or her interests with degree requirements. Management students benefit from a unique leadership laboratory and are offered the opportunity for summer internships in a wide variety of organizations.

During the spring semester of the sophomore year, management majors must select a concentration (see next section).
