Head Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Coach

Description:

Norwich University, a member of the NCAA Division III and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), is currently seeking applications for a Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach. The position is a full-time, ten-month appointment with a comprehensive benefits package.

Norwich University sponsors 20 NCAA Division III athletic programs, as well as a vibrant offering of club sports, intramural, fitness and outdoor recreational activities. Norwich, located in central Vermont, is a four year, private military institution with a civilian population serving 2,300 students.




Responsibilities:

The Head Coach is responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of a highly successful and competitive varsity swimming and diving program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruit and retain qualified student-athletes, practice and meet preparation, student-athlete development, academic monitoring, coaching, budget management, travel coordination, and other areas of sport administration. In addition, s/he will serve as the Director of Goodyear Pool with oversight of lifeguards and scheduling internal and external programs.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; however a Master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have previous college coaching experience and an understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private institution. S/he must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
