Grounds Worker - Athletic Fields - Internal Candidates Only


Full-time, non-exempt position to maintain and care for Norwich University’s athletic fields and provide services required for athletic functions. This position is responsible for preparing the athletic fields for practice and games, including marking the fields, equipment set up, and performing general services for natural grass and synthetic fields. In addition, s/he will maintain the campus landscape by mowing lawns; pruning and trimming; and removing snow from steps, roads, walkways, athletic fields, and elsewhere on campus as assigned.

We are seeking individuals who possess as a strong commitment and dedication to their work. Good organizational and interpersonal skills are required as is performance of duties in a safe and professional manner in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.


High school diploma or equivalent; vocational background preferred; knowledge of safe working and lifting procedures and techniques, previous experience with grounds work and use of commercial grounds maintenance equipment, preferred. Must be able to work on weekends and various hours to support all athletic and non-athletic events as scheduled. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
