Executive Secretary - VP Development & Alumni Relations (Internal Only)

Description:

The Executive Secretary provides support and assistance to the Vice President, Trustees, the Director of Major Gifts, the Development Officers, and other staff within the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Responsibilities:

High profile position under the general supervision of the Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations. Requires excellent customer service skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks. Provides administrative support to the Vice President, Director of Major Gifts and Development Officers - to include preparation work for the next campaign, knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and report generation, knowledge of the Banner system, inputting of invoices and requisitions, online travel card and procurement card expense work and approval, supervision of work study students, travel arrangements, purchasing inventory, maintaining office materials and supplies, budget analysis, maintenance of overall department records and schedules, support of Homecoming activities and Norwich University Board of Trustees is essential, as well as any special commissions as appointed by the President. Must be available to attend evening and weekend events as needed.

Requirements:

The Executive Secretary must possess specialized administrative skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. A solid working knowledge of reception, filing and scheduling is necessary to perform this job effectively. While an Associate degree is preferred, vocational/technical training and two to four years of relevant experience are required.
