Administrative Assistant - College of Professional Schools - Part-time

Description:

Part-time (20 hours/week) position reporting to the Dean of the College of Professional Schools. Provide telephone coverage, manage the dean’s calendar, schedule appointments, manage information through the Professional Schools, assist with contract requests and preparation. In addition, assist in monitoring the College budget, the development and publication of an annual College newsletter, and with the activities of the associated Board of Fellows committees.

Requirements:

Associate’s degree, preferred; two to three years office experience. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal including using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation as appropriate for a professional business setting. Must have an intermediate level of computer literacy including proficiency with web browsers, e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as address book and calendar management. An ability and willingness to learn new software and online systems, as required by the position is also important.
S/He may be the first point of contact with visitors, vendors, and guests and must be comfortable greeting new people, making them feel welcome and directing them to the Dean or other faculty/staff of the College. S/He must also be able to render some control over visitors to the Dean’s office, limiting interruptions and unscheduled visitors as necessary. S/He must be comfortable working with students and faculty, as well as deal politely with parents of students and the University community.
