Assistant/Associate Professor - Business Law - tenure track

Description:

Norwich University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Law. As the Nation’s oldest, private military college (founded in 1819), Norwich University has small classes, motivated students, and a Corps of Cadets comprising 60% of the student body.
The appointee will be expected to teach courses in American business law, environmental law and policy, entrepreneurship, human resource management or management as assigned. Other specific duties are expected to include University committee work, student advising (specifically including pre-law advising and counseling services for students considering law school or other law-related fields) and developing internship opportunities in government and private sector settings for upperclass students.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have (1) substantial teaching experience at the university level, (2) significant business/entrepreneurial experience, (3) a substantial background in government or public sector environmental regulation, and (4) extensive general or corporate law practice and/or quasi-judicial experience. An earned Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required. In addition, a baccalaureate or masters level degree in business or in a scientific/technical discipline is preferred. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct appropriate research and to publish in peer-reviewed and other professional journals and publications. Other extra-academic activities in the nature of public service are encouraged.
