English as a Second or Foreign Language - Adjunct Instructor


Norwich University’s College of Graduate & Continuing Studies seeks qualified individuals to work online or face-to-face in the development and delivery of a four-month hybrid intensive English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program during the Fall 2014 academic term. The University plans to host at least one cohort of adult EFL students from August 1 to November 30, 2014. The EFL program will consist of a mix of online sessions and face-to-face classes on our Northfield, Vermont campus.

Subjects that will be taught online include the grammar, syntax, and vocabulary of American English; reading comprehension; and writing proficiency. Subjects that will be taught in face-to-face classes include listening comprehension and speaking proficiency. Online instruction will take place in the Moodle learning management system and may include the use of synchronous communication technologies such as WebEx.

Face-to-face instructors will teach on the Norwich University campus approximately 3 hours per week; online instructors will have a similar time commitment.

This program may be repeated in future semesters with other student cohorts.


• Minimum of a master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL/TESL from a regionally accredited college or university;
• Experience working with adult, part-time, non-traditional students;
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
. Experience teaching online and/or at the post-secondary level preferred.
