National Security and Terrorism - Adjunct Faculty


Norwich University seeks individuals to teach online courses in the areas of National Security and Terrorism for students in its Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis (SSDA) degree program. The courses are 3- or 6-credit upper-division undergraduate courses and are entitled:

• International Terrorism
• National Security Policy
• Insurgency and Conflict

Each course is 8 weeks in length and is taught fully online.

The SSDA program is exclusively designed for active duty, reserve, and National Guard soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines assigned to or retired from the U.S. Special Operations Command and its subordinate and sub-unified commands. The program is offered through Norwich University’s College of Graduate & Continuing Studies.

Individuals hired under this announcement may be eligible to teach other online courses, or to be involved in the development of new online courses, at the discretion of the program managers and the chair of the Department of Continuing Studies.


Minimum of a master’s degree (doctorate preferred) in political science, international relations, strategic studies, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university;

Professional experience in national security or the study and prevention of terrorism;

Experience working with adult, part-time, non-traditional students;

Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.

Experience teaching online at the post-secondary level preferred.
