BS Online Adjunct Faculty - Environmental Science


Norwich University seeks individuals to teach an online Environmental Science course for students in its Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis (SSDA) Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (CJ) programs. The course is an introduction to environmental science and focuses on the physical and chemical processes associated with the Earth’s basic resources including air and climate, water, soils, and energy. The course also covers the key environmental issues of sustainability and human population dynamics.

The SSDA program is exclusively designed for active duty, reserve, and National Guard soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines assigned to or retired from the U.S. Special Operations Command and its subordinate and sub-unified commands. The CJ program is geared toward adult learners who wish to complete their degree. Both programs are offered through Norwich University’s College of Graduate & Continuing Studies.

Individuals hired under this announcement may be eligible to teach other online courses, or to be involved in the development of new online courses, at the discretion of the program managers and the chair of the Department of Continuing Studies.


• Minimum of a master’s degree (doctorate preferred) in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline from a regionally accredited college or university;
• Experience working with adult, part-time, non-traditional students;
• Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.

Experience teaching online at the post-secondary level preferred.
