Assistant Professor, History, East Asia
The Department of History and Political Science invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment to begin fall 2014. The position is in East Asian history since 1500, with a preference for a focus on China. The successful candidate will teach both halves of a two-semester survey on East Asian civilizations and both halves of a two-semester survey on world civilizations, historical methods, as well as upper-level courses in East Asian history. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential.
To be eligible for appointment at the assistant professor rank, candidates must have a Ph.D. in History. Highly qualified ABDs may be considered for appointment at the instructor level. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Review of applications will begin 1 November and remain open until the position is filled.
