Instruction Specialist - School of Architecture & Art
Seeking an individual to teach in a classroom and shop setting to convey and support the technical knowledge of shop equipment, processes and materials, as well as practical experience with different materials, fine craftsmanship, power and hand tools, and safety procedures in a shop environment.
Bachelor’s degree in design or a related discipline. Master’s degree in art, architecture, or design preferred. Three (3) year’s shop management experience or equivalent. In addition, must possess a thorough technical knowledge of shop equipment, processes, and materials and have experience with different construction materials such as metal, glass plastic, fiberglass, and concrete. Experience teaching in a classroom setting, experience in fine craftsmanship, and practical knowledge of shop equipment, power and hand tools, and safety procedures. Basic computer skills and good management and organizational skills desired. Must be, or willing to become, certified through OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
