Strategic Relationship Specialist - Military
The Strategic Relationship Specialist is an off-site representative of Norwich University’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies and accountable for creating brand awareness of the institution and its programs; establishing and maintaining relationships with military units/commands for the primary purpose of generating qualified leads and applications for admission; generating a strong pool of qualified prospective students for the programs, and meeting new student application targets per term and all established weekly, monthly, and term-to-term enrollment goals.
Norwich University’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) seeks a dynamic team member who will work with Norwich’s existing team to enhance and expand military relations for the CGCS programs by cultivating and developing strategic relationships in strategic command within the military community. The incumbent will also generate prospective student inquiries to meet and exceed enrollment goals for the programs. The position will be based at Ft. Bragg, NC.
Promote Programs through Marketing and Outreach:
A. Promotes Norwich CGCS academic programs to target audiences by providing general program information and admission requirements to prospective students and referral sources.
B. Develops and monitors a strategic plan focused on establishing immediate and on-going relationships within the military for the purpose of generating referrals/leads, applications and enrollments.
C. Collaborate with Norwich CGCS teams to: 1) create new connections with prospective military commands and other related outside entities and revitalize connections with existing partners through prospecting, cold calling, networking, appointment setting, and by conducting on-site and virtual presentations, and 2) create, coordinate and implement on-campus/off-site prospective student recruitment and/or yield events/programs that engage the leadership of these entities and CGCS faculty, alumni, current students and staff, as appropriate.
D. Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and CGCS alumni to ensure the continued production of leads and to drive community relationships, enrollments and long-term partnerships through the delivery of strategic tuition reimbursement policies, special events, and more.
E. Participate in education and job/career fairs and conduct on site military visits regionally and nationally. Develop relationships with leads generated at these venues and follow-up with them through the conversion process. Work with approved local, state and federal agencies and actively participate in select organizations such as veteran organizations to create lead generating events and referral systems for CGCS programs.
F. Create and implement initial and on-going marketing/communication plans for military partners, establishing database for communication, tracking and optimization.
Planning/ Organization /Collaboration
A. Insures timely data entry for inquiries and tracks information in the CRM and manages handoff of leads to the CGCS Admission Advisors and proactively follows up with them on an ongoing basis regarding prospects.
B. Work collaboratively with marketing and military sales teams, admission advising team to coordinate recruitment activities, marketing efforts, collateral needs, and follow up efforts for leads and mutual referrals between military recruiters and CGCS.
C. Work with CGCS faculty, Director of Recruitment and Admissions, and Marketing team to determine the target market for each academic program and develop program specific strategic outreach plans.
D. Analyze statistical data and develops relevant tactics in order enhance recruitment and yield strategies and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of actual performance versus targets. Establish lead generation and conversion benchmarks in conjunction with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions.
E. Plan and organize tactics and activities to enhance enrollments and track all performance metrics on a daily basis (e.g. number of prospects generated per week) utilizing technology and CRM.
F. Other Duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience/Travel/Evening and weekend work
• Bachelors Degree required.
• Military experience in Special Operations Forces community required.
• Represent the university with the ESO
• Conduct briefings
• Work with individual students to develop and completing application packages
• Be available for regular hours on base or other location as necessary
• Ability to manage case load and enrollment data.
• Ability to utilize CRM technology; familiar with database applications
• Demonstrated experience in addressing problems, defining relevant issues, drawing sound conclusions, and making responsible recommendations.
• Excellent phone presentation skills and highly developed oral and written communication and problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet critical deadlines and enrollment targets and prioritize a heavy workload under pressure and competing assignments.
• Sensitivity, adaptability and ability to interact with diverse groups and individuals at all organizational levels within a corporation.
• Must be able to do some travel and work some evenings and weekends.
