Program Director - Master of Science in Information Assurance (updated)


Norwich University seeks an outstanding professional and scholar to serve as the Program Director of the online Master of Science in Information Assurance (MSIA) program. We are seeking a director with demonstrated academic leadership, industry experience, and a desire to build upon and improve an established and respected information assurance program. The MSIA degree may be completed in less than two years and is substantially online. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position with limited graduate teaching responsibilities and faculty rank contingent upon experience. The initial term of appointment is for up to two years and subject to ongoing renewal.


Develop and maintain curriculum; oversee the development of new courses and concentrations; continuous improvement of existing curriculum in collaboration with program faculty; interface with external constituents in business, government and the military; monitor enrollments; recruit and evaluate qualified instructors; organize academic events for the annual residency conference; creatively lead and manage students, staff and instructors; actively participate in Norwich University governance and academic life. Program Directors are expected to periodically teach.


Doctoral degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred; candidates with a master’s degree and substantial experience will be considered. CISSP or CISM certification. The successful candidate will have notable leadership experience, be familiar with industry trends and technologies, possess the knowledge necessary to lead new delivery methods, and interest in developing virtual lab instruction. Teaching and curriculum development experience are required; experience in distance education with adult learners is highly desirable. Must have current authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.
