Director of Prospect Research

Description:

The Office of Development seeks applicants who are naturally inquisitive about people, detail-oriented, and fluent in modern research techniques for the Director of Prospect Research position..

Responsibilities:

The Director will establish a comprehensive research program, be responsible for acquiring and converting data into useful intelligence about top prospects, and for conveying that information to Development staff in a clear, concise manner. The successful candidate must be systems-oriented, self-motivated, and productive with minimal supervision. Knowledge of relational database systems, the ability to store and retrieve relevant information about prospective donors, and the ability to effectively present that information is essential. S/he must be able to establish and follow standard operating procedures, yet remain flexible to changing priorities.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years in a development research setting (higher ed preferred); capital campaign experience (>$25 million); experience training research users. In addition, outstanding computer and research skills, Raiser’s Edge software a plus; experience evaluating new research tools; proven track record of identifying 5- to 7-figure prospects; and strong written and verbal communications skills.
