Dean, School of Architecture & Art

Description:

Seeking individual with proven academic leadership and administrative skills. The dean serves as the school’s primary academic and administrative officer, is responsible for budget management, oversees course scheduling and faculty recruitment, teaches, plays an active role in stewardship and champions the program to the greater University and professional communities.

The School of Architecture & Art offers a bachelor of science degree in architectural studies that leads to the master of architecture degree (First Professional), and offers courses in studio and fine arts. It is the only NAAB-accredited architecture program in Northern New England.

Norwich University, founded in 1819 as a private military college, today blends civilian and military instruction in 30 undergraduate majors, with six schools and an enrollment of 2,000 students, of which 60 percent are in the Corps of Cadets. The School of Architecture & Art, with 165 students and 11 full-time faculty, has a mission to develop leadership and teamwork.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate holds a terminal degree in architecture, registration as an architect preferred; exhibits excellence in teaching; has previous administrative experience and a strong record in scholarship/research/creative work. Rank and salary are based on qualifications.
