Business Process Analyst/Data Integrity Officer
Description
The business process analyst/data integrity officer’s role is to devise and design business process requirements for all Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) SCT Banner-related business unit modules, processes, operations and core organizational functions. This includes researching and analyzing data in support of business unit requirements. This position is also responsible for proactively generating auditing reports with recommended improvements to operational procedures as well as providing first point of contact with business unit management to correct issues and provide business unit process maps to the business around customer data.
Responsibilities
BPA related
- Chart existing business processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models based on the approved methodology.
- Meet with business process owners, and map out operations requirements.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
- Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications—verbally or through written documentation—to management and staff so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to Business Unit Owners.
Data integrity related
- Drive data integrity processes and controls utilizing sound audit reporting.
- Ensure that there is a coordinated and comprehensive approach to maintaining and improving the quality of the data in all core systems. Documentation of all data cleaning that takes place ensuring its completion.
- Identify further areas for data cleaning, undertaking consultation and gaining agreement with users as to who is responsible for undertaking data cleaning. Where users are undertaking the data cleaning provide coaching to ensure it is cleaned correctly.
- Produce reports using tools from core systems to support data cleaning, validation and ad hoc requests from users.
- Motivate ongoing communications between IT and administrative business and process areas.
Requirements
- Proven experience with business process modeling/mapping, methodology development and data modeling.
- Proven experience in the operation and analysis of databases.
- Working knowledge of SCT Banner.
- Working technical knowledge of SQL/SQR programming languages.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and take action on it.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in business process analysis, or an equivalent combination. Must have a background in information technology with additional expertise in the field of business administration and management information systems with related work experience. Experience dealing with diverse groups.

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer — Internal applicants only

Norwich University seeks nominations and applications from current staff and faculty for the position of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.
Responsibilities
Under the administrative direction of the President, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the offices of Financial Affairs, Student Financial Planning, and Human Resources, and serves on the President’s Cabinet. As Treasurer, provides information to the Board of Trustees on the financial condition of the University, and serves as liaison to the Budget and Finance Committee and the Investment Committee of the Board.
The CFO is responsible for overall financial management of the University, including, financial reporting and analysis, asset and cash management, debt management, banking relations, federal and statutory financial and legal reporting for the University. Monitors the endowment managers employed by the Board, and the investment of non-endowment cash and assets. Manages the development and monitoring of the University’s operating budget (currently $89 million). Manages the University’s risk management efforts, including insuring risks and responding to claims. Oversees the University’s use of legal counsel, including both general counsel and specialized legal assistance as needed. Oversees the Office of Student Financial Planning, and supervises the Director. Assures that the office provides financial aid services and awards, in compliance with federal and audit requirements, and coordinates with the other related offices including admissions, the bursar, and the registrar. Oversees the Office of Human Resources, and supervises the Director. Assures that the office supports the University by providing employee recruitment and retention, payroll and benefits, orientation and training, information, planning and policy development, and problem resolution.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess specialized knowledge of financial planning, development and management as it applies to higher education. Must be at ease with administrative software and proficient with PC software applications. Strong communication, organization and leadership skills are necessary. A minimum of five years of related experience is required; MBA/CPA are preferred.

Dean, School of Architecture and Art
Description
The School of Architecture and Art at Norwich University seeks applications for an individual with proven academic leadership and administrative skills. The Dean serves as the School’s primary academic and administrative officer, is responsible for budget management, oversees course scheduling and faculty recruitment, participates in some teaching, plays an active role in stewardship, and champions the program to the greater university and professional communities.
The School of Architecture and Art offers a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies that leads to the Master of Architecture Degree (First Professional), and offers courses in Studio and Fine Arts. It is the only NAAB accredited Architecture program in Northern New England. The school, with 165 students and 11 full-time faculty, has a mission to develop leadership and teamwork in its students while focusing on the making of meaning and the meaning of making.

Director of Class Relations and Individual Giving
Description
Norwich University, the nation’s oldest private military college, seeks an experienced and highly motivated fundraising professional responsible for coordinating the class reunion effort including gift and social planning, and the management and execution of the annual giving program from non-reunion classes. Having just completed a very successful comprehensive campaign, this is an excellent time to join us in forging new relationships, building our donor base, and securing financial support that will benefit students and faculty for decades to come.
The Director will operate as a member of a team managing two Assistant Directors and reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Development.
The Class Relations Office is responsible for managing the 5th through 45th reunion gift effort including developing and implementing a strategic plan to identify, recruit, train, and solicit alumni volunteers and class members. Working with Assistant Directors and Development Officers, the Director will build a leadership team of volunteers who will work with classmates during reunion and non-reunion years to build a connection with Norwich and increase class participation and overall financial support of the University. As the fundraising liaison to the classes, the Director will work with volunteers to establish dollar and participation goals for individual and class reunion gifts. The Class Relations staff will work closely with the Development Officers to identify major gift prospects and develop a strategy for solicitation. The Class Relations Office is also responsible for supporting the social components of the class reunions.
In addition, the Director will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing the annual appeal process, including direct mail solicitation, email solicitations and phone-a-thons with the intent of improving the alumni giving participation rate. The Class Relations Office also manages affinity solicitations by regional clubs and academic schools including the School of Graduate Studies. In order to enhance Norwich’s communications with our constituent base, the Class Relations Office coordinates and implements alumni communication using a variety of social media.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and experience in fundraising with an emphasis on annual funds/appeals using direct mail, electronic media and phone-a-thons. The ideal candidate will have management experience and a graduate degree. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential. The Director must always represent the university in a consistently professional and ethical manner. Requisite qualifications include the ability to work and communicate effectively within a team and with a broad range of internal and external constituents, work independently, solve problems, handle confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational and planning skills, keen attention to detail, the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines, as well a thorough understanding of marketing and social networking. Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness
Description
Provide leadership, vision, oversight and management for all aspects of the University’s institutional research along with the associated planning activities. Plan and implement data collection and analysis; conceptualize, design and conduct analytical and other studies; prepare and transmit appropriate information to external and internal audiences; and provide planning and research support to University constituents. Provide leadership in the collection, synthesis, analysis, and presentation of data in support of institutional effectiveness, for regional and specialized accreditation groups and the University public relations office, and to support University-wide academic assessment activities. Coordinate institutional compliance with the requirements of the Higher Education Act (HEA), as amended. The director reports to the president of the University.
Requirements
A relevant master’s degree is required. Five years of experience in institutional research, institutional effectiveness or closely related activities in higher education is required A functional knowledge of computer applications for data acquisition and analysis is required. Personal computer knowledge must include the ability to prepare documents, reports, spreadsheets and databases, as well as specialized knowledge of statistical analysis and research software such as SAS or SPSS. Knowledge of the SunGard Banner system is a plus. The ability to write concise analytical reports that are appropriate for a specific readership is required. The ability to interact with administrators, faculty and staff at all levels in a congenial, courteous manner is required.

First 6 months
- Learn the key elements of NU culture and its preferred work style by observing, listening and asking questions. Begin to earn the trust and respect of all key constituents.
- Provide leadership and model the principles of our shared governance system, particularly in providing a voice for faculty perspectives in institutional decision making.
- Provide leadership and information to engender faculty support for institutional decisions.
- Lead the continuing discussion on the nature and extent of expectations for faculty to participate in scholarly activity and original research.

At 12-18 months

- Lead the development and integration of a rigorous program of assessment of student outcomes in all academic programs.

- Lead the ongoing review and development of general education standards and outcome measures for all undergraduate students

- Lead the development and implementation of automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness in academic administration. Immediate challenges include implementing online registration, providing automated support for academic advising, improved automation of course and classroom scheduling, and realizing a return on our investment in electronic document management.

The VPAA/DoF will be a seasoned educator and leader with an earned doctorate or terminal degree who is qualified for appointment with tenure at the rank of professor.
