VT Emergency Management (EM) is offering a course called “Integration of CyberSecurity Personnel into the Emergency Operations Center for Cyber Incidents”. The course is free, at the Department of Public Safety Headquarters in Waterbury, from May 9-11, 2017.
The Norwich University Applied Research Institute (NUARI) helped to develop the course. The intent is to get IT experts into the Emergence Operations Center (EOC) and get some practice for when a Cybersecurity incident happens. They do not need to be expert EOC people, but we are really looking for people with IT experience. In addition, the traditional EOC Personnel (Fire, EMS, Police, Emergency managers) would certainly gain experience in a Cybersecurity Incidents.
If you have someone who can benefit from this, they can go the EM’s website, register for an account and sign up for the course at: http://demhs.vermont.gov/training/trainingprogram/lms
If they have any problems signing up, or would rather not get an account, they can contact Brittany Marquette directly and she will help navigate the enrollment process – Brittany.Marquette@vermont.gov
