Nearly 200 Years—Learn More About Norwich

Expect Challenge. Achieve Distinction.

Make It Happen

You have explored various career paths, gained valuable skills and experience and developed your brand. It’s time to put it all together and take that next step!

  • Job Search

There are a million and one websites to find job postings. Most of you already know about sites like Monster, Career Builder and Indeed. The CIC has partnered with Handshake to bring thousands of job postings right to you! Based on your search criteria Handshake can help connect you with your next opportunity. Many of the employers are alums and want to hire new grads just like you!

Tapping into your network or the Norwich network is just as critical as applying online. Having an internal reference at a company is a great way to get in through the “back door.”

Speaking of references, who are you using as your references? Unlike written letters of recommendation, people who serve as references are often called by a potential employer to “vouch” for your skills, character and experience!

Using social media can certainly help speed up your job search! Dare to be different and you will be noticed! Remember, it is all about differentiating yourself and marketing your brand!

Be sure to follow up with the employer about the status of your application. Don’t forget to send a thank you note after each of your interviews to reiterate your interest in the position!

For more strategies and tips to conduct a successful job search and more about choosing references, check out the document section on Handshake!

  • Grad School Search

Rather than entering the workforce or the military about 10% of our graduates head to graduate school. Depending upon your career goals, many schools will want you to have some post graduate experience before going to grad school. Be sure to know what you want to pursue otherwise you may be going for the wrong reasons.

Below are some great resources that will help you determine what program is right for you, how you will pay for it, when to start the process and how to apply!

    • Application Timeline – Start early and don’t wait until last minute to start the process.
    • Checklist – Be sure you have covered all of the bases when applying.
    • With Peterson’s you can find the graduate program that is just right for you! Learn how to write an amazing essay, find out what tests are required and search scholarships all in one fell swoop!
    • Not sure how to pay for grad school? Let SALT help you find even more scholarships and budget your money.

Did you know that if you enroll in an online graduate program at Norwich, you will automatically receive a $2,500 scholarship just for being an alum? In addition, you do not need to take the GRE or the GMAT in order to apply. Like your undergraduate Norwich degree, all of our online graduate programs are NEASC accredited.
