8–9 a.m. Student Registration and Move In

New students, family and friends are welcome to attend lunch in the Wise Campus Center Dining Hall.

1–2 p.m. Welcome Ceremony

White Chapel

Norwich University president, Dr. Richard W. Schneider, will welcome students, family and friends into the University community.

2–3 p.m. So long for now…

Say your farewells before orientation activities begin at 3 p.m. in Plumley Armory.

3–4:30 p.m. Playfair

Plumley Armory/Andrews Hall

Join your classmates in an Ultimate Icebreaker experience.

4:30–6:30 p.m. Welcome Barbecue and Luau

Disney Field

Enjoy a great meal with your orientation group followed by volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, DJ and more luau fun, including contests with prizes.

7–9 p.m. Community Meeting & Social

South and Crawford halls

Mandatory

Meet with your resident advisors and fellow floor mates to discuss living in a Residence Hall Community.

9 p.m. Free Time

This is an opportunity for you to finish getting settled in your room, talk with your roommate(s), and prepare for Academic Day. Don’t forget to get some rest!

Academic Day—Thurs., Aug. 26

7:45–8:45 a.m. Breakfast

All students should plan to eat a good breakfast in preparation for a full day of activities with their orientation group. See your OL for scheduled breakfast time.

9–11:30 a.m. Academic Orientation and Advising

Follow the instructions in your registration packet (that you received Wed., Aug. 25) for the location of your major or department. Start your academic career with a school meeting and then academic advising.

11:30–1 p.m. Lunch with your Academic Advisor

Plumley Armory

Have lunch with your advisor and other students in your major.

1–2 p.m. Academic Advising and Enrollment continued (if needed)

1–2 p.m. NU SCVNGR Event

WCC steps

Orientation groups will meet on the steps of the WCC and compete in the NU SCVNGR Event.

2–3 p.m. Surviving NU with Rev. Wick

White Chapel

This is an entertaining look at all you need to know to succeed at NU.

3–4:30 p.m. Free Time and cruise prep

4:45 p.m. Meet at WCC steps for cruise departure

5–10 p.m. Cruise on Lake Champlain aboard the Spirit of Ethan Allen. dinner, DJ

Fri., Aug. 27

7–8 a.m. Breakfast

The NU Class of 2013, both Rooks and new Civilian students, will assemble on Sabine Field and pledge their willingness to accept and apply the Honor Code, abide by the Norwich Rules and Regulations, foster the Norwich spirit and uphold the traditions of the University.
