Army ROTC

Why Army ROTC

College students enrolled in Army ROTC learn how to succeed in any competitive environment. Norwich AROTC provides some of the nation's top leadership training programs.

Participating cadets enjoy many benefits, which can include help with college tuition, acquisition of professional military skills, practical experience in group leadership dynamics, and the respect of future employers.

Simply participating in the ROTC program does not commit a student to serve in the US military. There are several commitment options available to Army ROTC students in exchange for tuition scholarships, training, and leadership development.

Scholarship applicants and interested students should contact the Norwich Army ROTC Recruiting Officer for further information..

Army ROTC Time Commitment

The AROTC Leadership Laboratory is a weekly two-hour period of practical instruction integral to the Military Science curriculum. It is conducted one afternoon a week throughout each semester. The objective is to provide practical application of classroom instruction to enhance leadership, physical fitness, and military skills training.

Specialized Military Training Opportunities

The Mountain and Cold Weather Company and the Rescue Team offer additional training in military mountaineering, search and rescue, cold weather survival, and small unit light infantry tactics.

The Ranger Challenge Team provides the opportunity for cadets to further develop their military and leadership skills by providing hands-on training in small unit patrolling. In the fall of each year, Ranger Challenge cadets compete against other New England schools.
